I am glad to see that everyone agrees with me. I guess you know what is good for you *twitch* *twitch*
Under ordinary circumstances I use google somewhere between five and fifteen times a day. And yet BB's comment came as a revelation to me - I had never even considered googling Goofy to find out what kind of an animal he is. And I guess to some extent I really did not want the definitive answer; some things are better left as delicious puzzles. It is almost like looking in the back of the book first to find out whodunnit.
But spurred on by the prompting, google it I did and came up with Wikipedia. First they reminded me of the word that I so clumsily tried to replace with "humanoid," namely anthropomorphic. (I knew that word, really I did. I just mislaid it a bit, an increasingly frequent occurence these days.)
They begin by describing Goofy as an anthropomorphic dog (which might be dismissed as just another opinion), but then bring irrefutable proof: Goofy started out as a character called "Dippy Dawg," before undergoing his name change.
So there!

Well, I always thought he was a dog, but I guess I never debated the point (and never needed to gather evidence to support my contention!). Oh, by the way, I've got to try that quiche. Did I mention that I loooove asparagus?

well, normally when i visit a person's blog and like it i leave a comment saying so but i have to say that i'm truly overwhelmed by the volume of useful, varied and interestinging information on your blog. what is most striking is that your's is probably the first techie's blog that doesn't deal with tech stuff and at the same time doesn't crib abt the tech World, which too a try-out techie like me is fascinating (i'm not sure if that's the word i was searching for but surely on those lines). sounds lame but i'll still say it - excellent work.

Chrys - not a whole carb in sight, either. Maybe if you keep to skim milk (oh, the sacrilege..)
Sagnik - Wow! What a compliment from someone who serves up a smorgasbord of delights himself.
Found you via BB who left a message here - you're on my Must-Read list now :-)

Yep, we were right. We DO know a dog when we see one. And, thanks for the post of poetry reference on Knock-Knock - have read the poem and agree, it is powerful and meaningful for today. By the way, the author of the poem on my site was my daughter and she will enjoy your poetry suggestion, too. So you have made 2 people happy.
